The Lord your God is with you,

 the Mighty Warrior who saves.

He will take great delight in you;

in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice

over you with singing.”

Scripture focus for day one of the trip

In February 2025, Mission Partners For Christ sent a team of 14 people to serve four underserved and unreached communities in Guinea and, true to form, God met us all there in powerful ways that reminded each one of us why we keep following God’s leading into medical missions.

The blessings began before we ever touched down in Africa – the fellowship and bonding our team experienced through our Bible study & group chat on WhatsApp had us all feeling deeply connected even from a distance!

We arrived in Guinea on February 16 and spent the night in a lovely guest home. It was a refreshing rest before our team would set to work the following day.

On February 17, we traveled with Mission Aviation Fellowship Guinea to travel to the first location our team would be caring for and ministering to in Village A.

Day 1: Village “A”

In Village A, we were blessed to be able to treat 317 patients.

Pastor Wilmot, our local church partner, was given the opportunity to share the gospel, and over 200 waiting patients heard the gospel. In the end, 15 people were saved– including one of our translators!

    Day 2: Village “B”

On day two, our work took us to Village B, which was a two hour drive each way. There, we treated 440 people and saw many miracles take place (keep reading to learn about those!).

Pastor Wilmot (pictured left) was, again, given a chance to share the gospel with hundreds of people who came to our free clinic seeking medical care.

God is at work in Guinea!

Moved by the Holy Spirit and witnessing the love of Jesus in action, we saw 28 people accept Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, and 24 people asked for one-on-one counselling.

        Day 3: Village “C”

On day three, we had another busy day seeing hundreds of patients. In total, we saw 292 people in our clinic and our volunteers had opportunities to share Christ with our patients; Randy (a nurse volunteer who travelled with us despite breaking her wrist two weeks prior to traveling!)  was able to lead a patient in prayer to accept Jesus. Another nurse, who was serving for the first time with us, was prompted by God to share the gospel with every one of her patients, many were receptive to learning about Jesus, and one woman made a decision to give her life to God right there.

Randy also met with a widow who had come to our clinic. Seeing her need for encouragement, Randy struck up a conversation with the widow and her brother-in-law about the hope that can be found in God.  Randy encouraged them by sharing about Job and also the story of Ruth and Boaz, the kinsmen redeemer. After Randy shared about the gift of salvation with the widow, her brother-in-law said, “I want to be saved too!!!”

Our evangelist partner, Bobby (Pictured above with Randy), also had a chance to share about the gospel with hundreds more people. In the end, 5 people accepted Christ on that day. But many seeds were planted!

        Day 4: Village “D”

In Village D, we treated 272 people. Eight people were saved, including one young man at the hotel where our team was staying. His was a powerful story: he smoked a pack of cigarettes per day and said that he neglected his children with his selfish habits. God convicted him as he talked with our team, which led to him committing his life to Jesus.

Team member Jean (Warehouse Manager for Blessings International and Pharmacy Technician) shared the gospel in front of 200 patients waiting for medical care. He was, understandably,  nervous about speaking to so many people. However, the night before sharing, Jean read The Word and encouraged himself in the Lord. As Jean shared, he included the importance of personal relationship with Christ and fellowship with our brothers and sisters. Later that morning a woman who was in the crowd came up to Jean and told him that she had been experiencing chest pain and that his message greatly encouraged her.

We were also privileged to witness as the previous and current village chief were saved that day.

In the end, we were able to see 1321 patients across four villages. Fifty-seven people were saved, and we were beyond blessed to witness 14 people take that extra step in faith to be baptized!

Miracles and Happenings In The Mission Field

In Village B, 14 young men were baptized! Some ran into the water. We had never before witnessed a baptism like this during one of our medical outreaches and it was such a privilege to see!

God healed a 20 year old woman by restoring her hearing!

A young man was healed of headaches after Sheri prayed for him!

A woman who was demon possessed for 15 years was delivered through Jesus – she was so happy to finally be free that she was unable to stop smiling the rest of the time she was with our team!

In village C, a 55 year old man was healed of blindness!

Our collective faith in God’s providence was strengthened when we had no choice but to cross a bridge that wasn’t the safest. During rainy season, the river in this region floods significantly, making it difficult to cross. We all had to disembark from our vehicles prior to our hosts driving them across, and then walk over ourselves. Many of us were afraid, but we trusted in God’s protecting hand and walked across anyway.

        ,More notable things worth mentioning:

        • Megan, one of our nurses, had actually lived in Guinea in the same region, until age 8, with her missionary parents (who served a different people group). It was a joyous home-coming for Megan to be able to enjoy the food from her childhood!
        • Jacki, a radiology technician, was taking temperatures and weighing the children on day four, when she spotted following her. The woman had just learned about Jesus and could not stop declaring, “Jesus loves me!”
        • First time non-medical volunteer, Allen, fitted the kids with the shoes. He shared with the children that “Jesus loves you” and he noticed overwhelming peace coming over the children.
        • Sheri and Randy were able to pray over a pastor’s wife, during church on Sunday, who suddenly lost her husband 4 months prior.

        Following Up

Many people wonder what happens after a medical mission team goes home. What happens to the patients we leave behind and what resources do new believers have to grow in faith?

The follow-up plan is the reason why we prioritize creating partnerships on the ground all across Africa. Once our team has left an area, we can leave with the full assurance that God will continue to provide for the people living there long after we’re gone.

In Guinea, we had a local physician working with us who will be following up with the more serious medical cases we saw in our outreach clinics.

This doctor was also able to learn a lot and form important relationships with each of these villages through our connection. Before we arrived, he was unaware of how many people, locally, were in need of medical attention and how many people were unvaccinated. Now this doctor is able to connect with those who need his care the most.

Pastor Wilmot and his team will be following up on the new converts and doing discipleship in the weeks and months to come. Currently, we are praying for a church to be planted soon amongst this people group as it will be impossible to access these villages in a vehicle during rainy season. The team raised the funds to purchase the motorbike BEFORE we returned home.

Pastor Wilmot and his team were also gifted 2 Jesus film backpacks and 100 audio Bibles in the local languages for ongoing discipleship.

        Special Thanks To:

        • Mission Aviation Fellowship Guinea for providing transportation to these hard to reach communities
        • Our local pastor & evangelist partners, Wilmot and his son Bobby along with Community Church Ministries, for working with us to share the love and hope of Jesus with our patients. A total of 28 African team members served alongside of us, and we couldn’t be more grateful!
        • Renew Outreach for providing the Bibles we gave out
        • Dian Walker and her team for preparing our meals.
        • Blessings International for providing medication and lending us your warehouse manager & pharmacy tech – Jean was an incredible blessing!
        • Our volunteers for giving their time and skills to underserved and unreached communities: Megan, Tammy, Jacki, Randy, Alex, Kimberly, Allen, Barbara, Jennifer, Toshie, Traci, Angela, and Jean

        An Update!

Though it hasn’t been long since our team left Guinea, our partners there tell us that their team is starting a four day training schedule to learn how to lead new believers in their discipleship.

Here are a few pictures they sent us of the training:
