Having served multiple times with Mission Partners For Christ as a nurse practitioner, I have seen over and over how valuable and practical medical missions are.
My name is Rosemary, and I have been blessed by God to be put in a unique position to support the spread of the gospel in two ways:
- I am able to use my medical skills as a nurse practitioner to share the love of Jesus in word and in action. I do this by volunteering on medical mission outreaches provided by Mission Partners For Christ and
- Through my own nonprofit organization called, Momentum in Missions. MiM was created in 2023 to help advance the Gospel by supporting pastors and missionaries through financial assistance, equipping them with evangelistic tools, helping fund church plants, providing motorbikes for pastors in need of accessible mobility, and much more.

God Calls Believers To Bring The Gift Of Healing
A line of people waiting to be seen at Zimbabwe medical clinic on day three, July 2024
The places God has called us to are all underserved with health care and unreached with the Gospel. The health and physical needs of the people coming to our medical outreach clinics can honestly be indescribable at times; we see some of the sickest individuals I’ve met during my 30 years in healthcare. We are fortunate to be able to provide medications and education to people who desperately need it.
However, in some unique cases, we don’t have the right medication for them. Or we are unable to effectively treat their condition due to the advanced or serious nature of their illness. In those situations, we provide prayer to them, perhaps even multiple times. We have seen miraculous and instantaneous healings: blindness changed to perfect vision, deaf ears opened, pain resolved, and more.
At times our team will give financially for people to have life-saving surgeries after we leave, and we have so many testimonies about this too! When we provide free and loving care to their physical bodies, it quickly opens the door to be able to provide spiritual care to their soul!
The following are just a few examples of the ways in which I’ve seen God at work in missions.
God Miraculously Creates Life
In two 2024 medical outreach trips, God blessed Mission Partners For Christ by calling us to Sierra Leone (February 2024) and Zimbabwe (July 2024). On each of these trips, I had the opportunity to pray with people who had come to our medical outreach due to their longterm struggles with infertility.
Due to the complex nature of infertility, we do not bring medications along for this. So when people present for infertility, the best, and only, thing we can offer them is prayer.
In Sierra Leone, a young pastor’s wife named Miracle had told me that she’d been unable to conceive a child for 3 years. I told her that we did not have medicine for that, but that I would love to pray for her. I asked her, “Do you believe God can give you a child?” She replied “yes.” So my translator and I both laid hands on this young woman and asked God to open her womb for a child.

It was a powerful time of prayer and the young woman then left our table. My translator looked at me and said, “God’s going to give her a baby! I can feel it!” I told her I firmly believed that too. Later that afternoon, Miracle came back to me and asked for my phone number, which I gave her, telling her that WHEN she gets pregnant, I want her to let me know.
Two months after we left Sierra Leone, I received a text from Miracle, saying simply, “Guess what?” I called her immediately, and we both cried as we thanked God for His gift to her. Nine months later, I received another text message from Miracle telling me that she had delivered a baby girl!
In the summer of 2024 while serving in Zimbabwe, I had the chance to pray for four people with infertility. About 2 months after that outreach, I received a text from my translator informing me that one of the women we prayed for had also conceived a baby!
I may not know until Heaven if the other three individuals conceived, but in the meantime I’m believing God can do anything and no one can stop him!
I know that you can do all things;no purpose of yours can be thwarted. – Job 42:2, NIV
God Equips The Called
for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” – Romans 10:13-15, NIV
The Bible tells us that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few (Matt. 9:37), and I believe we must CARE for those who are working bravely and tirelessly to bring people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Having served in medical missions in Africa for many years, along with serving in other non-African developing nations, I have personally met hundreds of pastors and missionaries on these mission fields. I have stayed in their villages and witnessed and experienced their challenges that they are living through every day.
Truly, unless you have been there, it may be hard to fully comprehend how their limited resources impact their work.
I once met a 67 year old pastor in Zimbabwe who was walking 5.5 hours every day for his ministry, which is unheard of here in the USA. Spending that much time simply walking to the places God called this man to serve was heavily disrupting the impact he might have otherwise had if he were able to spend more time sharing about the Savior he worships. I knew that if he had access to a motorbike, he could make better use of his time. Within 4 months of owning his motorbike, thanks to the generous financial gifts of MiM supporters, this man of God was able to plant THREE churches! And now he can freely travel out to them in the bush as often as he needs to.
Mobility is the key to the spread of the Gospel, and once he got mobility, he became unstoppable!
Another example of the importance of the work God has called us to through Momentum in Missions is found in providing funding assistance to ensure that church buildings are built.
Not only are the pastors without transportation, but so are most people in the villages. Unless we place a church in their village, how are they going to have the opportunity to attend church and grow in their faith? Momentum in Missions is partnering with pastors who are doing a great work of evangelizing, and we currently have 47 villages who have asked to plant a church for them! In most of these 47 villages, they are currently meeting under a tree or in the home or yard of current church members.
Believers simply don’t want to wait until a worship center is built to begin meeting, but once built, having a church building will foster more growth as it can accommodate more people!

It is easy for me to say that most of the African pastors I have served with are some of the most zealous people I have known for the sake of the Gospel, but their lack of resources can greatly slow down the work. It is our privilege to partner with these pastors to support the work God has called them to.

YOU Can Be Part Of God’s Work
Without donations, Neither Mission Partners For Christ or Momentum in Missions would be able to have the impact that we are having. We solely rely on donations to be able to fund the purchase of motorcycles, plant churches, and support outreaches and evangelism, and all other projects we are working on. 100% of every donation to Momentum in Missions goes directly to support pastors and our projects.
Currently Momentum in Missions is supporting Gospel work in 15 countries: Belize, Benin, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Egypt, Gambia, Germany, Guatemala, Guinea, India, Sierra Leone, Spain, United States of America, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.
Collectively through all of our pastors and missionaries, in the past year, 17,775 people have heard the Gospel and 5,352 people have accepted Christ as their Savior! 1,097 people have been baptized, 2,012 have joined churches, 26 new church plants have been started, and 15 motorcycles have been provided.
