God is a being that does not need us and is fine on His own. But God created us for His glory. And as Christians, we are commissioned to lead others to Him. Not only are we supposed to live in such a way that our lives reflect Christ, but we are supposed to serve in the same way. Our way of doing that is through mission trips. We travel all over the world to give other people the hope found in Jesus Christ!
Mark 16:15 “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to all creation.”
Jesus wants us to go and boldly proclaim Him. Not only are we to go, but we are to give HIM the glory for all.
For example, during Bible times, the disciples were given the ability to do miraculous works. But though the disciples were told to go forth, they themselves did not have the power to change hearts. God alone is the only one who can do that. We must acknowledge that it’s through God’s power that people come to Him.
We are God’s ambassadors — planting seeds of the gospel wherever we go. In Romans it says, “Since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” This tells us that people can see God by looking at His creation. The sky reflects God simply by being the sky. A butterfly reflects God by spreading its wings. A tree reflects God by waving its branches in the wind. So how do WE reflect God? We don’t need perfection in our ministry — we just need faith and willingness! God uses ordinary, average people to do extraordinary things.
We at Mission’s Partners go around the world healing and serving a variety of medical needs, but we must do it in Jesus’ name so that it’s HE who receives the glory.
God has granted us power [through Him] to make a difference in this world.
“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” –1 Corinthians 10:31
