Togo Trip Recap
Growing the Kingdom and Providing Life – Changing Medical Care in Togo.
The Average Life Expectancy in Togo is 65 years old
Lack of Access to Healthcare is to Blame, Plus These Other Major Health Concerns:
Undiagnosed High Blood Pressure Impacts Life Expectancy
The Infant Mortality Rate is 43 Out Of 1000
Lack of Health Education Leading to Poor Health Outcomes
To make matters worse, people in Togo often live their whole lives without knowing Jesus or the gospel.
Our Mission to Togo
To bring doctors, medical professionals, and other Christ-followers to provide life-saving medical care and share the gospel:
Objective 1
Share the Gospel With the Unreached
We brought solar audio Bibles and divided them between each of the four communities we served. These audio Bibles allow villagers to hear the Word of God in their native language, making the gospel much more accessible.
Objective 2
Connect With Local Medical Partners
MPFC facilitated relationships between the communities we served and local partners on the ground so that each community will continue to receive tools and medical education. The goal is for successful and thriving communities.
Objective 3
Provide Life-saving Medical Care
The goal of our medical mission trip to Togo was to make healthcare accessible to underserved and unreached communities. We were blessed to be able to treat nearly 2500 patient during our time there!
Our Team
We had an incredible and diverse team of volunteers to help meet the needs of the villagers we saw at our clinics. In total, we had 55 team members ranging in age from mid-20s to 60s and hailing from around the world from nations like the USA, Nigeria, Benin, and more!
Highlights From The Trip
Salvation, medical care, and other answers to prayer.
Highlight 1
One of the village kings whose community we served in November 2023 asked the local missionary to meet with him regularly for Bible study. He wants to know more about the Bible.
We hope our MPFC community will pray that he has a continuous hunger to know more and that he opens his heart to Christ and in turn leads his community to Christ.
Highlight 2
We worked with our local partner to identify four people, who exhibit leadership potential, to be mentored to take on a leadership role in their communities as part of a five-year program designed to empower underserved communities.
This program focuses on five different components to empower each person in the community:
- Access to clean water
- Primary-level school for all children
- Health education for all
- Resources for sustainable family income
- Access to nutritious food to end malnutrition and hunger
Highlight 3
Hundreds of previously unreached villagers heard the gospel and accepted Jesus as their Savior!
We saw 77 people give their lives to Christ during our time ministering in Togo. Since we’ve left, we have gotten word that an additional three hundred eighty-five have accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
Praise God!
Thank you to all who support this trip through prayer and financial support!
What Volunteers Have To Say:
Yes! The impact on the people we have served strengthens me to do this again!
Yes! Based on my experience, MPFC carries a very heavy workload, but the rewards are greater!
Long-Term Impact
All four villages we served have said “yes!” to a five year program with our local partner designed to equip and foster economic success. Currently, they are all at the beginning stages of creating their own committee to oversee growth and development.
All four villages have access to a VIP pit latrine (toilet) that will improve sanitation and keep people healthy.
Three hundred eighty-five more people gave their lives to Jesus – including a king!
Interested in Joining an Upcoming Mission?
There are 400 million people living without access to basic healthcare in the world today. Mission Partners for Christ sends teams of doctors and volunteers to unreached communities in Africa so they can receive life-changing medical care while hearing the gospel for the first time.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
